BROKEN COMPASS
The warm current slips over Ronin's weathered shell, and for the first time in many seasons it feels wrong. Something beneath the water has changed. Most wander the ocean alone, guided only by instinct and the pull of the earth beneath them. Yet from the moment the three brothers had broken free from their nest, and scrambled across moonlit sand, something strange had bound them back together. For countless migrations, the ocean has spoken with certainty. Every current, every tide, every unseen force beneath the seabed has formed part of an ancient map carried within the bones of every turtle. Yet today the path has become fractured. Female turtles have lost their way to their nesting beaches. They must find direction again or face possible death of their entire species. Arrik has disappeared into the stillness of his mind, seeking an answer to the ferocity that lies before them. He can feel the ocean longing to communicate with him, but the sound of the machine is deafening. His spirit pleads clear connection. "What are you trying to tell me, great Creator?”
