Called Back to Air: You Don’t Survive Alone is an art statement on suicide awareness and the necessity of true connection when the mind turns inward against itself. At its centre, the turtle is held within a closed form—set apart, contained, unseen. Within this space, the patterns grow dense and restless, circling without direction, echoing the weight of intrusive thought and the quiet drift of a mind under strain. Beyond it, life continues—open, breathing, connected—yet just out of reach. The work rests on a simple, enduring truth: the turtle cannot remain submerged forever. Survival demands a return to air. In the same way, healing is not found in isolation, but in the gentle act of reconnecting—through presence, through care.
